Hello and welcome back to another week with the 1st
KazakhAmerican Blog.
 
Like the first post on Finland, this song shows the awesome
usage of vocal capabilities in Finnish music. The rhythm and the creative vocal
arranging are my favorite qualities.
 
As the song moves onward, I just keep thinking about how
much it reminds me of Irish music. I've said that about a lot of Scandinavian
songs. It's almost that they just have the liveliness and vivacity of the
dancing Irish music.
 
Where it differs of course is the strong sounding Finnish
language, which is by far different than anything Germanic. I do not understand
a word of the lyrics, but they are crafted so well into the melody, it still
fits like a glove ;).

When searching through the world of Finnish music, I really do not want to use the words bizarre, strange or even weird.
I guess, I am supposed to say that something is exotic, and when you listen to Mimmit and watch their videos, you will see the exotic and cultural spectrum of Finnish music.
 
This really is a beautiful language, and their folk music uses a lot of dimensions that I personally cannot find in a lot of other European cultures.
 
The vocals are really clear and comforting. Yes, comforting is the perfect word to describe them, for they are not overpowering, nor are they underwhelming.
And thank goodness, they chose to incorporate some strong strings in this arrangement.
 
I'm always weak for the European strings.
